I turned professional in October 2003 and started my PGA training in 2004. I have been fully qualified for 4 years. Upon finishing my PGA foundation degree I went back out to play on tour starting on the official feeder tour to the ladies European tour in Sweden at the end of 2007 and all of 2008. I had several top 10 finishes in 2008 as well as winning the Molle Masters and finished 2nd 2 weeks later. I finished the end of the season 9th on the order of merit and went to qualify for my card on the Ladies European tour. I just missed a full tour card by 1 shot.
With only a conditional card and finding out last minute if you were playing in tournaments made travelling expensive and preparation difficult so at the end of the season I decided to concentrate on coaching.
I have always enjoyed coaching all levels of golfer and I also work for The Hampshire County Academy as one of their coaches and talent spotting new juniors for the county teams. I have worked along side the Hampshire schools partnership offering tri-golf and extreme golf taster sessions at local primary and secondary schools, as well as coaching sessions for gifted and talented youngsters across the county.
I believe that having played on tour I can help convert my experiences into practical on course sessions to help my clients to handle pressure situations.
I also offer video analysis and all my clients have access to the smartpro website where their own individual notes are stored about their lessons and area of improvement. Smartpro website also offers a great set of practice drills for all areas of the game which allows the player to use and see for themselves their progression. I use these drills to assess my players each year, thus helping me to create a development program to suit their individual needs.
I regularly attend courses to keep my knowledge of all aspects of the game as up to date as possible, courses include fitness, nutrition, psychology, as well as long term athletic development for children. These courses help me offer the best I can to all of my clients no matter how young or old they are. I will be looking to undertake my level 4 coaching certificate once the qualification details for this have been announced later this year. I would love to become an advanced professional when I have been qualified long enough to do this.
